Saint Ana Lake, a unique natural treasure in the country and Central and Eastern Europe, is a volcanic lake formed in the younger crater of Ciomtu Mountain. The lake is supplied exclusively by precipitation with a balance of composition and the qualities of extremely fragile water. Near the lake there is a small chapel, which is also an important place of pilgrimage for believers in the area. Every year in July, on Saint Ana's day, the chapel's rave is taking place, a religious event that is important to local residents. The crater and lake is a natural reservation and is part of the Natura 2000 site ROSCI0248 the Lake Saint Ana-Tinovul Mohoș, which includes the two craters of Mount Ciomtu.
